Bennbrooke structures datacenter project development in Leipzig, Germany

Bennbrooke, the Frankfurt-based specialist for datacenter development structured a consortium and brought it together with the principal. The consortium was successful in its competitive bid for a Datacenter-as-a-Service project in Leipzig, Germany at the beginning of 2017. The consortium consists of the Dutch infrastructure fund Penta and the Dutch datacenter specialist ICTRoom. ICTRoom will build the modular datacenter and operate it for a single tenant. With the building permits being issued now, official groundbreaking ceremony will be held at July 25th, 20 17 and the on-site construction works will start soon. Phase 1 of the DC will be handed over to the principal by end of this year. The transaction marks the entry of Penta and ICTRoom into the German market. When all phases will be finished in 2019, the datacenter will measure 1,400 square meters white space and have a capacity of appr. 3,5 MW. It will have a PUE of 1.2 and will be powered with 100% renewable energy. With its datacenter expertise, Bennbrooke continues to support and advise the consortium during the planning and implementation phases.
